Ready for next summer? PDF Print E-mail
So you've had a good summer camping and your equipment has served you well. You may even be planning next years trip. Don't get too ahead of yourself, make sure all your kit is ready for next year and it isn't going to come out of the bag covered in black spots or leak at the sight of first rain next season.

Ensure your tent is fully dry, make sure you aired it well before packing away, also is it clean of all the grass, mud and tree sap. Whilst the weather is still OK think about checking now ready for next summer.

Whilst your checking it over, does it need a bit of TLC with the waterproofing, did the fabric change colour when it rained or did it take forever to dry, if so think about helping it out for next year by applying a quick coat of waterproofing, and our brush on proofer dries faster than a silicone based product so can easily done in an afternoon.

Do you need any extra pegs to replace the ones you bent, are all the guy lines still OK and what about that small hole from the BBQ spark, we'll can help you out with the holes and rips, with our Tear-Aid® repair tape and our PU glue.

Happy camping.

Be Prepared for the camping season PDF Print E-mail
Now that the weather is turning good you may be thinking that you don't need to think about watherproofing our tent, or I'll do it when we get there. Following the scouting moto, "be prepared" take a couple of hours out of the day and get yout tent ready. Check all the guying points, zips etc and also look at the fly sheet; did it look damp last year when it rained? Time to re proof it then!
Family tents are generally made from one of two types of fabric, polyester or cotton/canvas.
Polyester is best re waterproof with our brush one waterproofer, it covers about 15- 18m2 per litre, in very dry hot weather a little less.
Canvas waterproofing can be done with the brush on waterproofer but it is often better if the canvas waterproofer is used as this helps maintain the life of canvas in is original state. Coverage is around 5m2 per litre depending on the age and previous care.
Scouting tents are treated the same way, so for the traditional patrol tent or marquee get hold the Canvas waterproofer.

Proof now and enjoy your holiday what ever the weather!

“You provided me Storm Wash in Cleaner and Storm Wash in Waterproofer to try on my Gortex jackets some weeks ago I am reporting back that after been caught in what could only be described as a “Waterfall” on Monday night, my Berghaus jacket transferred 99% of the water to my trousers.
It was an extreme test as the rain was lashing down to a degree that the water was overflowing the gutters of my house because the down pipes could not cope with the volume. On this performance I will be sticking with Storm products and have already advised some of my contacts in other parts of the UK of its properties"
